I’m a Ph.D. Candidate studying HCI and Health at Indiana University Bloomington. My work explores the intersection of domestic HCI, family health informatics, and family-food interaction. My research uses food context to unpack complexities in navigating various shared experiences — from mundane domestic activities to chronic health challenges — to support the health, social, and developmental goals of families and children. I am also a recipient of the Luddy PhD Instructor Award and an Instructor on Record at IU. I have taught courses on Social Informatics, UX Design, HCC Methods, and Computing and AI Ethics.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Informatics from University of Washington, where I worked closely with the DUB group on projects involving voice agent usage in families and human-centered digital health.
I’m always happy to chat about potential collaboration opportunities. Check out my CV and drop me a line at ywu4@iu.edu :)
